Bio: Having started seriously pursuing the cello at the late age of 16, Tyler Davis has a large spectrum of performance experience. He has performed with orchestras such as the Southern Illinois Youth Orchestra, the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra, the Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Symphony Orchestra, Opera Saint Louis, Saint Louis Youth Symphony, Saint Louis Philharmonic, Clayton Symphony, the Muny Orchestra, and the Paducah Symphony. In addition, he is an avid recital performer, often given recitals at the Sheldon Concert Hall, the Art Saint Louis Gallery, Mitchell Museum for Cedarhurst Young Artist Series, as well as concerts throughout the Saint Louis Metro East area. He has been a cellist in the Illouri Cello Ensemble, as well as a member of various chamber music ensembles at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He has collaborated and recorded 2 albums with folk vocalist and guitarist Tonya Gilmore, giving concerts and shows at Coffee Houses, Art Museums, Cultural Centers, and other venues throughout the area. A Regional Arts Scholar and 2002 Southern Illinois Young Artist Concerto Competition Winner, Tyler has been awarded the National Symphonic Orchestra Award, Who's Who Among America's Youth, and the Jefferson County African American Heritage Society Award of Achievement through the Arts. His previous instructors include Glenda Piek, Kangho Lee, Marta Smidtchieva, and Kurt Baldwin. And has been a participant in various masterclasses with cellist Tsyoshi Tsutsumi, Marc Johnson, Andres Fejer, Hans Jorgen Jenson, and David Schepps. While Tyler isn't concertizing, he is working as Executive Chef for Siam, making pastries, reading, modeling, and writing recipes for his cookbook.

Guitar player tha is open to exploring just about any opportunity to hook up with a start up band, jam band, or others who might like to collaborate on original music. Have good semi-pro/pro gear and am willing to put in time to get tight and polished with similarly minded bandmates. Also have some vocal ability. My home base is eastern Franklin County, Mo. Willing to travel 20 to 30 miles to rehearsal space. My core musical influence is hard rock, 1970s radio is the biggest part of that but I also enjoy a wide variety of genres including alternative country and roots based Americana styles. Was in a cover band for a few years, 20082012, mostly played small clubs for the most part, nothing really huge. Memorable performances are those where goose bumps hit mid-song, everything is in perfect sync and it chills me to the core :') Currently play in a Friday night jam band with long time friends, in a smoke-filled living room somewhere in south St. Louis.

I love playing virtually all types of music when done well. The biggest enjoyment i get from playing out is the interaction with the other players in the band, and I really love how each performance has a life of its own.

The Hookman band was formed on February 28, 2010, when front man Johnnie Lechner met drummer Mike Foster and they melded their creativity and ambition to create what would soon be a pretty successful band. Soon lead, keyboard, and bass guitarist joined the mesh and brought their own creative zest to the flourishing group. Without many opportunities for gigs in their home of Oakville, Saint Louis County, they decided to open a door themselves. They gained access to a property next to the Meramec River where they had their first annual gig fondly referred to as the Hookman Halloween Hellraiser; it features the Hookman band, The Rockers, the A-Town Mob, and other great additions that vary from year to year. The first year this was held it was mainly family and a wide variety of friends and relatives and each year it’s expanded welcoming more and more people into our bandom. Soon after that they acquired their first paying gig at Sidekicks bar in North Saint Louis and then moved on to another--even more successful--annual celebration, Laker Day.
