I have been musically inactive for a number of years (real life got in the way), and I am now looking to begin playing again. While I am considering a solo project of some kind, I really wish to be part of a team/band situation again as well. I am a multi-instrumentalist who also happens to be able to sing, although I am primarily (and prefer to be) a bass player in a band situation. I am willing to collaborate with musicians not local to me if there is a good fit or for a promising project.

Musical Influences & Inspiration

I love many kinds of music (my Cd collection is huge, and features literally everything from Abba to Zappa and everything in between!), but my favorite style to play is progressive rock in all its myriad forms. Classic and Progressive rock, progressive metal, symphonic metal, jazz love them all! My main influences on bass guitar (either in playing style or "sound"...in some cases both): Geddy Lee (Rush), Chris Squire (Yes), Paul McCartney (The Beatles, Wings, solo), John Entwhistle (The Who), Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), Doug Pinnick (King's X), Tom Petersson (Cheap Trick), Justin Chancellor (Tool), Peter Steele (Type O Negative), Cliff Burton (Metallica), Eddie Jackson (Queensryche), John Taylor (Duran Duran), Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order, Monaco), Simon Gallup (The Cure)...my singing voice has been (favourably) compared to: John Wetton (Asia, Uk, King Crimson, solo), Eric Woolfson (Alan Parsons Project), Justin Hayward (Moody Blues), Greg Lake (Elp), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), David Coverdale (Whitesnake), Tod Howarth (707, Frehley's Comet, toured with Cheap Trick, solo), Gordon Lightfoot, Sting (The Police, solo), and Peter Gabriel (Genesis, solo). All that being said, I hope that I have forged my own style that, although pays homage to these greats (I have no qualms about wearing my influences on my ), still sounds distinctive on its own.
