I am 51 years old from Janesville, Wi now living in Sun Prairie, Wi. I hoped living closer to Madison would help to jump start a musical career again, I don't believe age in music means anything, the love for music, the passion for music, is all that matters. I live, eat, and breath music it is in my soul, I've played since grade school as a drummer I played in every school band available from Jr high thru high school winning many awards for percussion it is all I've ever wanted to do. In the 80s I was in a few hair metal bands-my favorite music-but over the years I've come to realize it's not about what music to play it's about playing, doing what I believe I was meant to do. My mentor is Neil Peart I play Tama drums because he did, my drum set is gigantic, because his was all Tama Titan hardware, all Zildjian cymbals. It was the age of excess however I know it's not about the size, it's about the love of drumming which has never faded. I have never recorded I haven't played live for many years, I allowed myself to believe it was just a hobby, and have regretted that for many, many years. Realistically I can hold a double bass drum beat, but not like I used to, however I cannot imagine not playing with them they are great for accents and fills. I'm not necessarily looking to play metal or hard rock I just want to play. I write poetry and have written lyrics most are gone or lost but I can always write.

Musical Influences & Inspiration

My first influence was Rush, Neil is my mentor, mostly 80s hair metal bands since that's when I came to life musically. Over the years I've learned to appreciate all types of music, one is big band. My Mother got me into old back and white movies and I've always loved that era, the 20's, 30's, and 40's. Music then was in it's infancy but born of that time was a music that would be an influence that can be felt today, and for many years to come. Since I also write poetry my inspirations can come from just about anything.

My drums are Tama, my kit is custom built, I call it an 8 piece circle of sound all drums are on Tama Titan stands and have no bottom heads: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15,16, 18. 20 inch floor tom-with bottom head removed. 2, 24 inch bass drums, 14 inch deep metal snare drum. Cymbals are all Zildjian and most are on Tama Titan stands as well: 14 inch high hat, 16 inch china boy high, 18 inch china boy low, 21 inch ping ride, 16 inch ride/crash, 16 inch crash, 14 inch effects crash, 14 inch crash, 10 inch splash-on an arm extending from an existing cymbal stand, 8 inch splash also on an arm. Iron Cobra bass pedals.
