I have played in several Cover Bands , too many to list, and recently decided that I want to go another route. I am a drummer, with 30 + yrs under my belt. I've drummed for a Southern Rock band, a classic rock band, a blues band, and even for an original band, that was on a consistent roll, and had an album out, and getting exposure, only to come to a screeching halt over legalities brought on by a band member. 2nd phase: Went back to playing covers, making relationships, breaking some as well, only to wind up 3-6 months into the project, when someone leaves,or has to make money now being a rock star (sarcasm intended) - and back to zero. So with all of that, I still love making music, and pleasing the crowd, but now I wish to make my own, with others that wish to do the same thing. I'm tired of all the "getting a setlist that everyone wants", getting everyone in one place at the same time, blah blah blah. I am in no hurry to find the right individuals, with the same vibe, same goals, and aspirations. THERE HAS TO BE SOMEONE OUT THERE, THAT HAS THE TALENT , POTENTIAL, AND STAMINA, THAT IT TAKES TO CREATE A SONG/ MATERIAL THAT IS REALLY GOOD, AND ACCEPTED BY ALL WHO PARTICIPATE. Now as to what type of Genre I am headed towards, is a wild guess. I think it depends on who decides to take the assignment, and their preferences. Maybe I'll get lucky and meet several musicians with the same aspirations, preferably 1 Lead guitar, 1 Rhythm Guitarist, 1 Bass player, and hopefully 1 Keyboardist. (Preferably all over the age of 40 with at least 15 yrs experience) So there it is, You decide I'm asking abroad , who else wants the same thing ??
