Music friends, I'm a mid 30s guitarist/vocalist looking to put a band together. Funk, soul and a lil rock and roll mixed with chiptune/ambient/psychedelic and world elements. I have songs but am open to more. Recordings would be more shorter format, live would be stretched out jams. Vocals a Plus. Drums - Pocket grooves emphasizing personality over technique. Lots of different styles and percussion, loops and electronics too. Bass - Fingerstyle funkster to lock in with the drums but also get experimental. I will be a senior this fall at Duquesne University, where I study with Damian Bursill-Hall and Rhian Kenny of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Throughout my studies, I have won several competitions- Butler County Symphony's 2013 Young Artist Competition, the Women's Advisory Board Scholarship Competition, Tuesday Musical Club of Pittsburgh Scholarship Competition, and Duquesne University's 2014 Wind Concerto Competition. I am currently looking for more flute students to teach, and enjoy playing gigs as often as possible. I am not sure where I will be next year- I either want to attend graduate school or stay in Pittsburgh.
