Drums
A bit about my musical background: Back in the 80s, I played drums in working bands around the New York area (live in Collegeville now), covering hard rock classics from Ozzy, Judas Priest, AC/DC, and Black Sabbath, to name a few. I also played with a party band that featured male and female leads, allowing me to cover a wide range of music from Heart and Pat Benatar to Fleetwood Mac and other Top 40 hits of the time. After retiring (65 but in good shape), I felt the pull to return to drumming and decided to dive back in. I set up an electronic drum kit so I could practice regularly without disturbing the neighbors. Since September 2024, I've been putting in a solid 2-3 hours daily, warming up on the pad for rudiments, working through exercises on the kit, and jamming along to tunes to sharpen my timing and groove. At this stage, I'm eager to move beyond solo practice and play with other musicians again. I'd appreciate the opportunity to see how my skills have held up in a live setting and to experience the energy of playing with other musicians again. I've posted a few videos of me playing so you can see/hear my skill set (The sound quality isn't great, but it's good enough to form an opinion). Contact me at rhnielsen68 at COM
