I am a singer-guitarist. I play finger style, and rhythm/lead. I am semi-retired and wanting to play around Florida. I am very versatile but obviously old school. I am not a juke box that can strum and play any song requested. I like to put some thought into my arrangements. My sets will include some rock, light jazz or blues using the looper, finger style Leo Kottke, John Fahey, and depending on the audience, some softer folkie stuff. I like playing solo, but also would like to make some musical friends. Not sure what that will look like but I am open.

Musical Influences & Inspiration

My first hero was Al Hirt's trombone player. At age 12 my friends and played dixieland on Saturdays. My parents were all about country but I was a jazz fan until the Birds, Hendrix, Clapton, Band, Zepplin etc. Majored in Brass but got into guitar playing and singing folkie stuff, James Taylor, Dylan, Cs&Y, Neil Young. Played trombone and guitar in several bands. Studied classical guitar quite a bit but lean toward improvisational music. Got a real job in graphic design and web development to support a family but always kept playing mostly for friends but a few solo gigs now and then to maintain a repertoire. I enjoy finding songs I like and arranging for acoustic in my voice range, using a looper quite a bit. For instrumental breaks I like to build layered loops as a background to play over.
