Max Adler, born in California and raised in the New York metro area, is a consummate musician and passionate performer. Max studied at Montclair State University and received a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Drumming and Performance.
Max has learned from and performed with a wide range of jazz professionals including Don Braden, Steve Johns, Rogerio Boccato, Alan Ferber, Nick Scheuble, Jeffrey Kunkel, Dave Stryker, John Daversa, and Chris Wood. He has performed under the direction of Broadway Conductor Greg Dlugos, Jeffrey Kunkel, and Dave Stryker and recently opened for the jazz-funk power trio “Unit One” featuring Mark Egan, Karl Latham and John Hart.
Major influences in Max’s percussive aesthetic include Philly Joe Jones, Max Roach, Tony Williams, and Elvin Jones as well as the funky undercurrents of Zigaboo Modeliste and Billy Martin, and modern drum pioneers Brian Blade, Eric Harland, Dave King, and Chris “Daddy” Dave.
Max currently lives in the New York metro area where he continues to study, practice, teach, perform and record.
