Ideally I would fit best with a trio/quartet singing jazz standards. I'm a big Nina Simone and Frank Sinatra fan and would love to sing covers of their tunes in a performative or living room setting. Mainly I would just love to gather around a piano with fellow musicians and enjoy the process without being too goal-oriented. It would be great to play out, of course, but for me it is about the process -- it is about the music.

The Mchenry Music Scene

One of the best ways to experience the local music scene is to visit one of the many bars and restaurants that host live music. Some of the most popular spots include The Benchwarmers, The Highlander, and The Brass Monkey. These venues often feature local bands on weekends, and they're a great place to relax and enjoy a drink while listening to some good music.

If you're looking for something a little more intimate, check out one of the many coffee shops or cafes that host live music. These venues typically feature acoustic sets from solo artists or small bands, and they're a great place to catch a glimpse of some up-and-coming talent. The McHenry County College Cultural Center hosts a variety of concerts throughout the year, and the McHenry County Historical Society Museum offers free concerts on select Saturdays. The McHenry County Fairgrounds also hosts a number of music festivals throughout the year, including the McHenry County Fair and the Mchenry County Blues Festival.
