Background Singer
54 year old bass/acoustic/vocals player that has written a few Christian tunes, has a family, job and 39 or so years experience looking for local Clay County or West side Christian musicians in a similar place. The goal is to do our own take on personal God/Jesus-centric favorites, pen some originals and be willing to talk to whoever might be listening about why what we like or wrote is meaningful to us. There are farmers markets, church fests, open mic nights, community events, etc. that can be our occasional gigs. We can get together at a home, garage or park to pick tunes, set a stylistic path and otherwise hang out, then the personal learning will mostly be at home with mp3s, chord charts and cyber interactions then back together to put the pieces together. Much can be done with a PC, basic recording software (Audacity comes to mind) and a Drop Box account. With Jesus and open minds, I believe this could fit into normal lives with some creative, co-operative work around family, job, gear, practice and any other issues.
