All videos posted are from the band I'm just finishing up with after a 6 year run. Looking to go a little deeper into something original here. Think old time feel good Appalachian/Bluegrass as the base, but with fun harmony, foot stomping hand clapping and with predominantly more modern lyrics, looking for bluegrass instrumentation; banjo (clawhammer players a major plus), mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, upright bass but not at all counting out that other thing you play thought. Would love to experiment with a washboard, maybe throw in an accordion in there for a song or two if you can make that happen, you play kazoo? Dope, we can work that into something. No tambourines, unless its one of the five instruments you play, in which case lets talk. I'm about that multi-instrumentalist life. I write songs well, play guitar and sing well enough to carry a tune with a little character. I like to think I'm being modest but I'd rather under promise and over deliver, so lets go with that for now. I'm also looking for harmony singers or folks who aren't intimidated to try at least, while holding an instrument. I want to get deep into 3 to 5 part harmonies, call and response, row row row your boat layers, doo w**, barbershop-py stuff, lets tell a story with a melody. I don't expect to be Queen by any means, but I want to go for that style of within our capacity and the character of our voices. Lets get a little wonky and ridiculous. Lyrically, I'd like to nerd out a little bit more than the average country song for sure, maybe even be mildly politically motivated. I think there is some room for that. I'm also open to other members personalities and writing styles if you care to write. Would love to have someone else write along or make it a group practice, but not a requirement. Lastly, I want to make people dance when they hear us play. Sure some slow songs, but high energy, upbeat, even if the lyrics are depressing as hell sometimes, nothing like dancing to sad songs.
