I am able to play along with click or recorded loops. I am familiar with large concert setups and mic placement for live venues and studio work. I have familiarity with a variety of genres and have the capability to adapt my playing to fit many different styles and applications. My interests are varied and my experience encompasses both large and small studios and live performances from concert halls to small clubs.

Musical Influences & Inspiration

My influences are varied. Growing up in Chicago I played in jump blues bands and even with my father's country rock-a-billy. In college--I toured with jazz swing orchestra. I have played in bands covering classic rock, southern rock, hard rock, pop, alternative, 90s grunge, punk, and modern music. I have covered music from the fifties, sixties, seventies, and eighties to the present. I usually learn a cover tune note for note before I change anything. I like to think it gives me a deeper understanding of the music.

I own Pearl Classic four tom set up and a Gretsch Power Grand Prix 5 Tom kit. I have several sets of cymbals...Paiste, Sabian, Zildjian and UFIP. I also own a wide assortment of snares. I have an electronic TD-20 Roland electronic kit for special applications and recording in small studios and a full array of percussion instruments. I own a large variety of microphones and a portable drum riser. I have a Roland TD20 and TD12. The TD12 is part of hybrid kit with triggers and pads.
