Veteran harmonicist Dave Kaplan grew up in Chicago, playing blues and rock. Since then he's also played in jazz, R&B, bluegrass, and folk bands, with performances in a dozen countries. These days, in the DC area, he plays mostly jazz, using a chromatic harmonica. He's open to jazz bands playing straight ahead, standards, gypsy, world, bossa, and blues.
Harmonica: Toots Thielemans, Stevie Wonder, Howard Levy, William Galison, Antonio Serrano, Little Walter, Paul Butterfield, Sugar Blue, Norton Buffalo, John Popper. Jazz: Miles, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Charles Earland, Django Reinhardt, Pat Metheny. Other: Bela Flek, Duane Allman.
I play through a sound board/PA or my own amp.
