My musical roots come from the Chilean folklore I grew up with: the rhythms, poetry, and soul of artists like Silvio Rodrguez, whose guitar work and lyrical depth shaped the way I hear music, and Violeta Parra, whose courage to write straight from the soul inspires me to do the same. Im also influenced by artists whose voices carry both power and vulnerability. Alicia Keys inspires me with her heartfelt soul and honesty at the piano, while The Carpenters showed me how unique style and Karens unforgettable voice can leave a timeless mark. More recently, Ive found deep admiration for Alanis Morissette. I didnt always connect with her music, but learning more about her and listening to her vulnerable, unfiltered lyrics has challenged me to open up and sing whatever is inside me. That openness is what creates the real connection I crave through music.
