STONE MOUNTAIN SOUL-JAZZ We are sax, bass, drums and guitar playing jazz/blues/ funk/R&B standards, some of them from lead sheets (Real Books) and some from recordings. We have developed a gig-worthy group, but we all are grownups and most have day jobs. We have been vaccinated. We are primarily motivated by desire to play music. I have played guitar for a 56 years with bands in a variety of styles and have professional-qualityguitars. I like to back vocalists and play ballads, bossa nova, jazz, swing, Gospel, old-school R&B and soft rock. For the past 21 years have been with the Jones High Alumni and Community Jazz Band in Orlando, now living in Stone Mountain. Competent improvisor, good chord reader, middling note sight-reader but can figure out chord changes from piano parts or slow pianist's left hand.
