I am currently in a classic rock cover band, playing a mixture of rock soul and funk from the 60's through the 90's. Although this is fun, I am really looking for something new and original with better players so I can grow I am basically self taught and have been playing for almost 40 years . I play by ear. Music is my passion and it comes from inside of me and I am looking for other people that feel it the same way. I have been playing and teaching flute professionally for about 26 years now. Locally, I play with indie bandsPetoskey and the Crystin Byrd Band. The bands are not playing on a regular basis, which is why I am looking to get involved with some other projects. In the past, I've been a member of Secret Codes, Sea Caves, and Carcrashlander, playing flute and singing backup vocals. Musically, I can read and write music, improvise, and sing. I have a Ba in Music and a Ma in Music Composition. In addition to flute, I also tenor saxophone and some keys. To further open up other music possibilities in songwriting, I started taking guitar lessons in October 2014. I am absolutely loving guitar. I am particularly interested in a collaborated group environment that includes writing lyrics and composing. However, depending on the project, I would consider just being a sideman. Melody and lyrics are really important, especially when including flute in the mix. It doesn't matter to me if someone can read or write music, but one should be proficient on their instrument and know the chords and notes. Age doesn't matter, as long as the person is serious about their instrument, shows up to rehearsals and performances, and can communicate. Our current drummer isnt working out we need a new drummer who is: skilled in death metal style drumming, committed to practicing at least once a week, can make it to the portland area to practice, has a good attitude, age 21+ preferably but not required., who loves metal and is stoked to create it. We have a full jam space and recording equipment as well as connections to play shows in local venues once a setlist is practiced because our vocalist is already in an established band in the erea of another genre. We can produce our own eps and albums. We are all 21-22 and 420 friendly. We are two guitarists, a bass player, and a vocalist who write our own original songs. Our sound comes out like a clusterf*ck of brutal, technical, psychedelic, melodic, old skool, thrashy, black death metal. We would like to write more material with a new drummer. We stay true to the roots and integrity of death metal while integrating creative expansion and genre collision.

I am a bassist who plays and owns upright, acoustic/electric and electric basses. I also a lot! Both lead and especially harmony. I have been in many bands with 3 and 4-part harmony and sang in a “close harmony” group in college when I was a percussion and voice major at Crane School of Music and Plattsburgh State colleges in Ny. As a music education major, I learned to play many instruments and currently own keyboards, mandolin, guitars, accordion, melodica’s and electronic and acoustic drum sets. I write music as well . I recently moved to Portland, Oregon from Portland, Maine. I have played a wide range of music from folk to jazz and most things in between (Rock, Bluegrass, Blues, Country, you name it)... started onstage with my musical family on drums at age 8.
