STONE MOUNTAIN SOUL-JAZZ We are sax, bass, drums and guitar playing jazz/blues/ funk/R&B standards, some of them from lead sheets (Real Books) and some from recordings. We have developed a gig-worthy group, but we all are grownups and most have day jobs. We have been vaccinated. We are primarily motivated by desire to play music. I have played guitar for a 56 years with bands in a variety of styles and have professional-qualityguitars. I like to back vocalists and play ballads, bossa nova, jazz, swing, Gospel, old-school R&B and soft rock. For the past 21 years have been with the Jones High Alumni and Community Jazz Band in Orlando, now living in Stone Mountain. Competent improvisor, good chord reader, middling note sight-reader but can figure out chord changes from piano parts or slow pianist's left hand. I m John D'Amico I play multiple keyboards, synth & sing. Were professional, dedicated to the music, looking for someone with same mindset and experience wants to , produce accurate signature parts of the songs correctly, to sound like the originals. NO Drugs or ego maniacs. We are a team effort. + plus, if u sing, or harmony backup. THE MUSIC: We are a cover band that sounds like a tribute band performing Rock classics. We are dedicated to performing popular songs that other bands aren t playing, maybe due to missing Keyboard- synth - organ -strings- parts, or not taking the time, or these songs are harder, and this is NOT JUST JAMING! . So, put in some dedicated effort with us. ** Notice the genre we are doing. We would also like someone who likes and appreciates these song types. We are covering artists like Pink Floyd Dark Side of Moon, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Moody Blues, ELO. The Doors, Steely Dan, The Beatles, Aerosmith, Elton John, Clapton, Zeppelin , Atlanta Rhythm section, just to name a few. REHEARSAL AND GIGS. We are rehearsing once a week to give everyone the time to get their parts down. Rehearsal is usually set for Sundays from 1:30 to 5:00. We will be rehearsing at John s house in Holly Springs / Woodstock, great set up with recording 32 tracks at rehearsal, we are then tweaking sounds for our web site and launch to obtain gigs. Our goals are to work our way up to playing larger gigs, staged, and or ticketed , or corporate events.
