The Reseda music scene is also supported by a number of local businesses, such as record stores, music venues, and rehearsal spaces.
One of the most well-known bands to come out of Reseda is Sublime. Sublime was formed in 1988 and released their debut album, 40 Oz. to Freedom, in 1992. The band's music was a fusion of ska, punk, and reggae, and they quickly became one of the most popular bands in the alternative music scene. Sublime's lead singer, Bradley Nowell, died of a heroin overdose in 1996, but the band continues to be a popular draw for fans of their music.
Another well-known Reseda band is Ozomatli. Ozomatli was formed in 1993 and released their debut album, Ozomatli, in 1998. The band's music is a fusion of cumbia, salsa, hip-hop, and rock, and they have been praised for their innovative and eclectic sound.
