Watercolor Octopus is a band currently being assembled by primary songwriters John (rhythm guitar, lead vocals, drums, some bass) and Schad (drums, rhythm guitar, some bass, some keys, whatever he can get his hands on) with the intent to write, record, and perform original music (and some covers, for fun) with a focus on integrity and just having fun making good music that (hopefully) will bring a little joy to folks in an increasingly depressing world. The current focus is on finding a bassist to join John and Schad to begin working on the rhythmic foundations of some of their songs as a 3-piece (guitar, bass, drums) before adding a solid lead guitarist, dedicated keys player, and, ideally, someone comfortable being in a kind of "super-utility" role playing extra keys, percussion, guitar, uke, banjo, bells, and whatever else a given song feels like it needs and that they can figure out how to play -- being unafraid to tackle a brand new instrument would be a must since we'd love to have a fairly large sonic palette, but also bear in mind that we don't expect you to become a master of that instrument!
